WALKS & CYCLE ROUTES

Why not walk there and get the train back?

We all care about our planet and want to do what we can to look after it. Vehicles on our roads produce emissions that pollute our air and damage the environment. But did you know that taking the train is one of the next best sustainable travel options after walking, scooting and cycling?

The Barton Cleethorpes Community Rail Partnership has designed a set of walking and cycling routes that can be used on their own or as part of days out on the train.

TRY AN EBIKE

Barton Cleethorpes Community Rail Partnership are working closely with Humber and Wolds Rural Action, to develop an E-bike hire scheme to raise awareness of sustainable travel.  Thanks to grants from Community Rail Network and East Midlands Railway the scheme started during Community Rail Week, May 2024 at The Cycle Hub at Grimsby Railway Station. The project aims to raise awareness of the green credentials of rail travel, especially in conjunction with walking, wheeling and cycling. We hope that the project will encourage people to explore the area around the Barton to Cleethorpes railway and it may even motivate people to consider buying an eBike and transition to using it regularly.
